Recon 3.0 mates a carbon outsole with a Pave-inspired glass fiber forefoot to create Carbon STRIDE toe-flex, which lets your foot function naturally off the bike, yet still provides incredible power transfer with a stiffness index of 10.0. Whether you're flying up a run-up on the 'cross course or strolling into the brewhouse post ride, STRIDE toe-flex is a game changer. We know venturing off-road means venturing into the unknown, so we've given the Recon 3.0 XPEL Mesh to create a comfortable fit that sheds water, keeping the shoe light and making it dry as fast as it rides. Our SlipNot compound provides full rubber coverage of the outsole for off bike traction on any surface, with open treads to eject mud. From the outset of the Torch 3.0 Road shoe design process, our goal was to create a performance offering as feature-packed as any top-end shoe. The challenge, however, was pulling this off at a palatable price. In order to achieve this, we utilized three strategically placed materials on the uppers that are welded together—TPU and mesh in the front and synthetic leather in the rear. This makes for a more comfortable and supportive front of the shoe. A stiff rear and heel cup, meanwhile, lock down your heel and keep all of your watts going into the pedals as efficiently as possible. This refined upper is combined with our legendary FACT carbon fiber sole to further ensure an efficient power transfer. To validate our warranty and prevent sole cracking, SIDI Reinforcement Plate (or similar from crankbrothers and Look) highly recommended for use with dual retention-bar style MTB pedals (crankbrothers, Time and Look). The plate is not required on Drakos or with Shimano-style pedals.

Fits SP Carbon, Vent Carbon, Eleven Carbon/Composite, Millennium 4, Carbon Composite and Carbon Lite soles. The shape of the heel pad dips in back to go around a rivet in the sole. Fits any SIDI shoes, although one or both nubs on heel pad underside may require trimming with clippers.
