The humble summer first layer is often an afterthought, but we take it seriously, constantly refining its composition and silhouette to ensure it keeps you comfortable during the balmiest days of the year. A new blend of carbon and polypropylene yarns have been strategically arranged to manage moisture much better than previous iterations, resulting in a breathable, antibacterial short-sleeved first layer that keeps you cool and dry from the base up. The Circular Seamless construction introduces a tubular knit that's free of side seams, creating an ultrasoft, comfortable feel against the body.

We're constantly refining the first-layer platform in the name of greater moisture management and overall comfort. Such is the case with the new Skin Layer family, taking the baton from our Skinfoils with much lighter designs, refined constructions, and better-performing fiber blends. We've lowered the SS Skin Layer's weight by roughly 25% compared to its Skinfoil predecessor and used a tubular knit technology that's free of irritating side seams. A new blend of carbon and polypropylene yarns have been strategically arranged to manage moisture much better than previous iterations, resulting in a breathable, antibacterial short-sleeved first layer that keeps you cool and dry from the base up. The Circular Seamless construction introduces a tubular knit that's free of side seams, creating an ultrasoft, comfortable feel against the body. The sleeves are sewn directly into the armhole to promote a full range of motion beneath additional layers.

Lightweight support, comfort, and impact protection come together in this optimal trail-focused first layer. When designing this short, Assos extended the inseam for a cleaner wrap on the thighs, and strategically placed removable impactPads at the hips for crash protection during demanding rides. Oval in shape, and constructed with 8mm-thick high-density polyurethane, these pads are optimally positioned to both protect and never impede your pedal stroke. The shorts are finished by reversing all primary stitches, eliminating chafing and friction next to your skin.

A liner bib short developed specifically for trail riding—providing support, protection, and storage for your ride essentials. We took the support of a bib, the storage of a pack, and the protection of pads and created these liner bib shorts for those of you who like to keep it light and lean on the trail, without sacrificing anything in the process. We positioned two cargo pockets high enough along the lower back to avoid contact with your overshorts' waistband, yet low enough for easy access to their contents under your jersey. We made the slim, dual pockets spacious enough for an extra bottle, pump, multitool, keys etc. The waist has been constructed with a tall V-shaped panel that comfortably molds to your lower abdomen while in the riding position, and we also extended the inseam for a cleaner wrap on the thighs. Our ultrasoft warp-knit Aerofit fabric has been applied to the legs for maximum ventilation. Its high elasticity and built-in odorControl will also help keep you cool and dry when things heat up. At the waist, the AZPtech (abdomZeroPressure) construction was developed with a soft, highly elastic material to further improve the comfort and hold, minus any pressure or pinching.

But winter poses a specific host of challenges not found in other climaCodes, namely in the form of added cold air and your additional layers. This is where our new Winter LS Skin Layer fills the gap, tuned with a thicker knit "weight," taller collar, and more stretch than our Spring/Fall version for boosted insulation and flexibility under your outer apparel. A winter-tuned blend of carbon and polypropylene yarns—plus elastane— are employed, which draws moisture away from your skin and insulates your core, keeping you dry, insulated, and comfortable from the outset. The Winter Skin Layer relies on a Circular Seamless construction that's free of irritating side seams.
